immorally, in an unclean, vile manner; or of the wickedness of transgressing against the well-being of society and violating human law? Is it of these sins that the Spirit of God came to convict men? Undoubtedly He will deepen the realization of the exceeding sinfulness of every sin; but primarily His work has not to do with matters of this kind. Every man’s natural conscience convicts him of such sins as I have mentioned. Men may pretend to excuse acts like these, but they know in their own hearts
